2015 Warrior Dash Championship – Southeast Location

We just received word that this year’s Warrior Dash World Championships will take place in Tennessee on October 10th. This opens up new possibilities for those chasing the cash and titles in the OCR world as $100,000 will again be on the line.

A race on the east coast may attract several athletes that did not want to travel to California last year.  In addition, with  The OCR World Championships and Warrior Dash World Championships now only a few days and a couple of states apart, many more international athletes may extend their US stay to take on both events.

The World’s Largest Obstacle Race Series Brings Elite Competition to Tennessee

CHICAGO, IL (Jan. 27) – After a successful first event in 2014, the Warrior Dash World Championship will be returning for a second year to a new location at Milky Way Farm in Pulaski, TN on Saturday, October 10, 2015. The Warrior Dash World Championship is an international 5K obstacle race where elite athletes sprint through the 3.1 mile course to battle for the ultimate bragging rights and thousands of dollars worth of prize money.

This will be Warrior Dash’s third year at Milky Way Farm. Tennessee’s terrain and course will provide a challenge for both returning and new competitors. Last year’s World Championship, in Esparto, CA, hosted world-class athletes including Hobie Call, Rose Wetzel and Cody Moat. Warrior Dash gave away $100,000 in prize money; the largest purse prize in 5K non-track history, including $30,000 to male winner, Max King and female winner, Kimber Mattox.

“The level of competition here is absolutely amazing,” according to King. “You’ve got anybody from obstacle race champions, to Olympians, to fast runners, to guys like Hunter [McIntyre], who are absolute obstacle race animals.”

Participants can qualify for the Warrior Dash World Championship by signing up for a competitive wave at any of the 30+ events internationally and placing in the top 25 of their gender.

“Since Warrior Dash’s inception in 2009, the obstacle racing industry has seen tremendous change and growth, and is becoming an internationally recognized sport,” says VP of Marketing at Warrior Dash, Tad Jenkins. “After a remarkably successful first Warrior Dash World Championship, we’re pleased to bring back the premier 5K competition for a second year in Tennessee and continue the challenge for our elite Warrior athletes.”

Milky Way Farm is near Nashville, TN and free of charge for spectators. The festival provides spectators the opportunity to see world-class athletes compete on the course and race through the finish, in addition to merchandise, food, beer, sponsorship activations and interactive activities. Additional sponsorship and activations will be announced as the event approaches.

Warrior Dash’s 2015 season begins on January 31, 2015 in Clermont, FL. Registration details and more information can be found at WarriorDash.com. To obtain more information or on-site credentials for any Warrior Dash event, contact Lauren Gardner at media@warriordash.com
