9 out of 10 Spartans when asked would likely rather donate a kidney than do the bucket carry. This obstacle is used to be pretty rare, but I think they realized it’s easy to setup and makes the races all the more Spartan. What you need to do is get a 5 gallon bucket and fill it with loose stones until filled to the brim. Then you must carry it at waist level, up and down a hill, until you get back to the beginning where you pour it out. If your bucket has lost stones you will fail this obstacle and do burpees. The bucket is said to weight between 70-100 lbs and is very hard to grip from the bottom as required.
